An Exciting New Chapter for La Tragna Dance Academy

Exciting Changes at La Tragna Dance Academy
Caitlin Childs – our new Principal

Today marks a special and significant day for La Tragna Dance Academy as we warmly welcome Caitlin Childs as our new Principal.

After many wonderful years at the helm, founder Melanie La Tragna, has made the decision to step away from day-to-day running of the academy and pass the business on to new ownership. Melanie's vision, dedication and passion have shaped LDA into the thriving, supportive community it is today, and she leaves with our deepest gratitude.

Melanie will remain closely involved as 'Founder and Consultant', continuing to support the academy with class cover and guidance to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for all our students and families.

Continuity and Growth

Caitlin is already a familiar and much-loved face within the LDA community, having taught here for many years. She knows our students, our ethos and our values inside out, and we are delighted that the academy's future is in such capable hands.

Supporting Caitlin in this new chapter, Bella Moore and Emily Matthew continue in their roles as Managers, ensuring the day-to-day running of the academy remains as strong as ever.

For now, everything stays the same: our classes, our timetable, and the warm, encouraging environment that makes LDA so special. We will continue working towards our UKA exams, celebrating our annual shows, and embracing performance opportunities just as before.

Looking ahead, Caitlin is excited to build on LDA's strong foundations with plans to gradually expand what we offer — including additional weekday classes, new dance styles such as Street Dance, wellbeing sessions like yoga, and even more chances for our dancers to shine on stage.

Thank You, Melanie

On behalf of the entire LDA community, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to Melanie for her years of commitment, inspiration and leadership. Her influence will always be part of the academy's story, and we are so pleased she will remain involved as we move forward.

La Tragna Dance Academy will proudly keep its name and its ethos, continuing to be a place where dancers of all ages can grow in confidence, creativity and ability.
